About Me

My sewing experience started at a very young age as my mother was an excellent seamstress. She spent hours sewing and creating clothing and enjoyed every minute.  Even though my initial introduction was in clothing construction, the quilting bug was soon to follow.  While planning our wedding I read about a wedding quilt so I took it upon myself to make our first quilt.  Working with cardboard templates & scissors, (oh how I do appreciate the rotary cutter and rulers of today) and needle & thread I started in on the Robbing Peter to Pay Paul design.  After many many hours of hand piecing and hand quilting, the wedding quilt was finished only weeks before our wedding.  It is a great memory but I also vowed it would be my one and only hand pieced & hand quilted quilt!!  There are way to many wonderful fabrics and patterns out there to take the time to hand quilt.  The long arm machines consistent and accurate stitch plus speed is much more to my liking.

Formal education would consist of years of 4H projects, high school home ec class, FHA membership and a BA from WIU in Fashion Merchandising with a textiles background.  But most of all the patience and skill instilled from hours of working beside my mother.  Once the love of the feel of fabric and the joy of the finished projects is experienced there is nothing to compare.

When you leave your quilt tops with me they are treated with as much love and respect as if I had done them myself.  I hope to help you fill your home, friends, and families homes with as many wonderful quilts that bring back warm memories as you desire.
